It's what I refer to as my famous last words before I applied for a retail job at a clothing store after working in corporate for 25 years. Almost immediately, I launched my business, Boldly Speaking, leaning on my speaker skills and years of experience with ERGs. I ended up working at an Athleta store in NYC, and I'm glad I decided to join that team. What sticks with me most is the confidence and joy I've found during a time filled with so much doubt and uncertainty. I landed a seasonal brand associate role and felt like a kid in a candy store.

It's just that Gen Z has so much more going for it. Gen Z cares about a company's commitment to DEI — to the point that they'll decide where to work based on that investment. Gen Z demands what they need and want. Gen Z boldly leverages social media to record their #TechLayoffs, talk about #QuietQuitting, and encourage each other to #ActYourWage. Researchers found the ancient tomb in El Caño Archaeological Park, a site in Coclé province known as a hotbed for pre-Columbian discoveries, particularly lavish burial chambers. The civilization of the region surrounding El Caño at the time treated the site as sacred and worshipped their “ancestors,” referring to those remembered for having done important things. The grave is the ninth tomb excavated by researchers at the El Caño Archaeological Park, which is known for its richness in archaeological discoveries and lavish burial chambers. Ancient burial practicesThe archaeologists found the body of the supposed religious leader buried face down and on top of the body of a woman, the release stated. There have been two attempts — the most recent in 2021 — to figure out whom the various tombs found at the El Caño site once belonged to, Mayo said.

The attorney general has tried to strip Arevalo and his Vice President-elect Karin Herrera of legal immunity, suspend his Semilla party and annul the election. "Problems are not over for Arevalo," said Roberto Alejos, former Guatemalan Congressional and political analyst. Giammattei's conservative Vamos party and UNE, the party of former first lady Sandra Torres who Arevalo defeated in the election hold a combined greater power. The government of Arevalo and Herrera will have to carefully balance demands by the United States to stem migration amid record-high remittances that keep the local economy afloat. After winning the presidency, Arevalo said he will expand relations with China, which could imply a change in policy for Guatemala's diplomatic ties with Taiwan, a move that could anger the United States.

Milei, who is pledging economic shock therapy such as shutting the central bank and dollarization, won a second-round runoff vote on Sunday with some 56% to rival Sergio Massa's 44%. Milei now faces the huge challenge of turning around the economy once he takes office on Dec. 10. "It is an economy that is in intensive care," said Miguel Kiguel, a former undersecretary of finance at the Economy Ministry in the 1990s. A central bank poll of analysts forecast 185% inflation by the end of the year. In a bid to tamp down inflation Argentina's central bank has hiked the benchmark interest rate to 133%, which encourages saving in pesos, but hurts access to credit and economic growth.

Suarez returns to Uruguay squad, Cavani out injured

Marcelo Bielsa's 24-man list also included fellow striker Edinson Cavani but he has withdrawn after a muscle injury in Boca Juniors' 1-0 win over Newell's Old Boys on Sunday. Mexican club Leon's Federico Vinas has therefore been drafted in as a late replacement. The 36-year-old Suarez, who played his last game for Uruguay in the 2-0 win over Ghana in December at the World Cup, has made 137 international appearances, scoring 68 goals. The striker could return to the top of the all-time South American World Cup qualifying scoring charts, where he trails Argentina's Lionel Messi by two goals with a total of 31. Another record within reach is the number of games played for Uruguay in World Cup qualifiers, currently held by Diego Godin with 65 appearances, three more than the Gremio forward.

REUTERS/Matias Baglietto/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsBUENOS AIRES, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Argentina's consumer prices likely rose by less than double digits in October, a Reuters poll showed on Friday, slowing down after hitting a three-decade high in September. The poll, which surveyed 19 analysts, showed consumer prices increasing by 9.9% in the month, slowing from the 12.4% rise in August and 12.7% climb in September, though they warned the slowdown would be temporary. "However, consumer prices are still going up quickly, especially considering the official exchange rate and government controls." The tightly controlled official exchange rate was devalued to 350 pesos per greenback in August, though it currently trades for nearly three times that on the informal parallel market. "The effect of August's peso devaluation was diluted, but it seems more inertia is building now than from before the previous exchange rate shock."

What are the symptoms of bipolar disorder?

Signs of bipolar disorder: ManiaWhen a person with bipolar disorder is “up,” they are often euphoric — intensely happy, excited and full of energy — but unusual irritability can also be part of the swing, according to the Mayo Clinic. Signs of bipolar disorder: Major depressionThe polar opposite of the manic side of bipolar disorder are the periods of depression, often severe or “major” depression that can cause significant problems at work, school, home and in relationships. Different types of bipolar disorderThere are several types of bipolar disorder, which differ by how symptoms present, according to the Mayo Clinic. A long-term study called the Systematic Treatment Enhancement Program for Bipolar Disorder has found that people “taking medications to treat bipolar disorder are more likely to get well faster and stay well if they receive intensive psychotherapy.”Is bipolar disorder genetic? For example, researchers found that bipolar I disorder is genetically similar with schizophrenia, while bipolar II disorder shares more genetic similarity to major depression.

The Cost of Being Disabled in New York City Housing

Winning, then losing, the housing lotteryFor many disabled New Yorkers, the city’s affordable housing lottery seems like the answer. Under city guidelines, only 5 percent of units are set aside for tenants with mobility disabilities and 2 percent for people with hearing or vision disabilities, and zoning laws don’t allow any crossover. “They don’t understand the gravity of what they’re doing.”Sabrina Bennett, 38, has been applying to the housing lottery for more than a decade, before she became disabled from a spinal cord condition in 2012. She now uses a wheelchair or a walker to get around, and is living with her husband in supportive housing through the city’s shelter system until she can find an accessible apartment she can afford. She’s hoping she finds something through the housing lottery, but she has already been in the shelter system for five years.

PANAMA CITY (AP) — Protesters blocked streets across Panama on Monday, demanding the government rescind a contract to continue copper mining in a biodiverse region. Across Panama City, peaceful protesters handed out fliers, but in some areas on the outskirts of the capital police met protesters with tear gas. The government used social media to highlight the “enormous contribution” the mine — Panama's largest private investment ever — makes to the country's economy. Minera Panama says the mine will employ thousands of Panamanians and that its shipments make 80% of the country's total exports. The new contract, initially slowed by labor disagreements, secures Panama at least $375 million a year from Minera Panama, over 10 times more than the previous deal.

MADRID/BRASILIA, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Argentina and Brazil are requesting 12.5 billion euros ($13.2 billion) in financial aid from the European Union in talks to conclude a trade agreement with South America's Mercosur bloc, according to a document seen by Reuters. Three EU and South American diplomats confirmed the Argentine request, which is backed by Brazil, in the rotating presidency of the four-nation Mercosur. A European diplomat involved in the talks told Reuters the 12.5 billion euros number was "floated" but that any support "would not be anything like that figure." The new aid request was made in a Mercosur counterproposal to an EU addendum proposing environmental safeguards. But the financial aid request and reopening of the public procurement chapter could prevent a final deal this year.

New York CNN —A third person has been arrested and was charged in federal court Monday in connection with the death of a 1-year-old boy who was exposed to the highly potent drug fentanyl while inside a Bronx day care, according to federal prosecutors. One-year-old Nicholas Dominici died after the suspected fentanyl exposure earlier this month at Divino Niño day care center. Paredes, who was arrested Saturday in an apartment in the Bronx, allegedly conspired to distribute fentanyl, including at the day care center, from at least July of 2023, authorities said. Paredes and his alleged co-conspirators, Grei Mendez and Carlisto Acevedo Brito, stored the drugs at the day care – including a kilo of fentanyl on children’s playmats, according to a criminal complaint. Investigators were able to trace phone calls and text messages from Mendez and Brito that led them to Paredes, according to the complaint.
